Âé¶¹AV Meet the Editors are specially curated programs by the Editors and Publishing team, aimed to provide researchers with a platform to interact and engage with experts from India & International board members.​ The platform offers researchers (mostly early career) an opportunity to gain insights on: tips on writing research papers, how to publish with maximum impact, and insights on Âé¶¹AV’s peer review process.

Our panel of expert speakers will talk about their research work, recent trends in the journal, and emerging research ideas to gear researcher in every stage of their career and strengthen their publishing journey. In addition to providing you a transparent view into the life cycle of a manuscript, we will also share tips around how to submit your research paper, things to keep in mind while submitting your paper and various Âé¶¹AV Journals that are available for you to explore to publish.

Speakers
Dr. Michael Rowan, Âé¶¹AV, United Kingdom

Dr. Rowan is the Executive Editor of the Physical & Sustainability portfolio, which includes Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics (PCCP), Green Chemistry, and Faraday Discussions. Michael studied chemistry at the University of East Anglia and completed his MChem in 2002. He earned his PhD studying the design and synthesis of transition metal catalysts under the supervision of Prof. Carl Redshaw (now at the University of Hull).

He started his publishing career in 2006, working as an Assistant Editor for Chemistry—A European Journal and, after serving as Editor-in-Chief of the catalysis journal ChemCatChem for nearly 10 years (Wiley-VCH), he joined the Âé¶¹AV in 2022. With nearly 20 years of editorial experience, Michael continues to serve the chemistry research community to the best of his ability.


Professor Akhila K. Sahoo, University of Hyderabad, India

Professor Akhila K. Sahoo completed his doctoral study at the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune under the supervision of Prof. Ganesh Pandey in 2001.

He worked as a postdoc researcher at the RWTH-Aachen-Germany with Prof. Hans-Joachim Gais (2002), Prof. Tamejiro Hiyama, Kyoto University, Japan (JSPS; 2002-2004), and finally with Prof. Atsuhiro Osuka, Kyoto University (2004-2006). He then worked as a scientist at the Sai Advantium Pharma Limited (2006-2007), Hyderabad. He then joined the School of Chemistry at the University of Hyderabad, currently he is working as a professor. His research interest revolves in the development of novel transformations on metal-catalyzed C-H activation, Au-catalyzed synthetic methods, and construction of strained N, and O-rich energetic materials. He is a Member of the Âé¶¹AV and Member of the National Academy of Science, India and an associate editor of NJC.


Professor Asim Bhaumik, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, India

Professor Asim Bhaumik received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India in 1997. After completing his Ph.D. degree he moved to The University of Tokyo, Japan as a JSPS Post-Doctoral Fellow from 1997-1999. Then during 1999-2001 he was an Associate Researcher at Toyota Central R & D Labs., Inc. Nagoya, Japan.

After that, he joined the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, India, where he is currently working as a Senior Professor. He has published over 525 original research articles and 16 patents with over 28000 citations. He is a Fellow of the Âé¶¹AV (FÂé¶¹AV). His research interests are: exploring novel organic, inorganic and organic-inorganic hybrid porous materials for the energy and environmental applications, developing heterogeneous catalysts for CO2 fixation reactions into fuels and fine chemicals, and green hydrogen. Professor Bhaumik is an associate editor of Green Chemistry.


Professor Neeraj Shukla, National Institute of Technology (NIT), India

Dr. Neeraj completed his B.Sc. from the University of Allahabad and earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from IIT Kanpur. He served as a Scientist at UGC-DAE CSR, Kalpakkam (2012–2016), where he contributed to the development of SQUID-VSM and an 18T Magnetoresistance facility. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at NIT Patna and has independently handled several research projects. During his Ph.D. (2007–2011), he was part of the team that established the 1.7 MeV Tandetron Accelerator, microbeam line, and Focused Ion Beam facility at IIT Kanpur, under the guidance of Late Prof. V.N. Kulkarni and Prof. H.C. Verma. He continues to collaborate with the Ion Beam Facility at IIT Kanpur. His research interests include ion–matter interaction, defect analysis using RBS, channeling, and SRIM; ion beam-induced micro/nano fabrication for surface plasmon and sensor applications; magnetism in 2D layered materials; magneto-transport and magnetization studies in multilayer graphene for GMR and EMR applications; and exploring electronic, magnetic, and optical properties of 2D materials using first-principles DFT simulations


Dr. Lijina MP, Âé¶¹AV, India

Dr. Lijina is an Assistant Editorial Development Manager at the Âé¶¹AV. As part of her role, she works across various disciplines and societies of chemical sciences and support the journals. Lijina completed her integrated PhD in chemistry from the Indian institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram and subsequently she joined Âé¶¹AV.


Professor Subrata Das, NIT Patna, India

Dr. Subrata Das obtained his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry from Assam University in 2004. He pursued his M.Sc. programme in the field of Polymer Science, followed by his Ph.D. degree in organic synthesis from Tezpur University in 2011. After completion of his Ph.D. degree, Dr. Das started his independent career as an Assistant Professor in the field of Chemistry at the National Institute of Technology Agartala. Later in the year 2014, Dr. Das joined the National Institute of Technology, Patna, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry. During his tenure at the National Institute of Technology, Patna, he had held multiple administrative positions at both departmental and Institutional levels. Presently, Dr. Das is appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Science and Technology at the National Institute of Technology Patna

Dr. Das research interests include working on diverse domains of organic synthesis, metal-bioactive pyrimidine complexes, green photochemical transformations/degradations and graphene/graphene quantum dots-based nanomaterials for advanced biological applications. To date, Dr. Das has completed over six externally funded projects sanctioned by the Government of India and has awarded 5 Ph.D. students under his mentorship. Dr. Das has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and has been granted 6 Indian patents. Additionally, he is also the Founder and Director of PhotonicR Private Limited, India. His newly launched company is involved in the manufacturing of high-end photoreactors for synthesis purposes.
