19 February 2026 08:00 - 20 February 2026 18:00, Zagreb, Croatia

Introduction

The XVI Meeting of Young Chemical Engineers (SMLKI) will take place on 19–20 February 2026 at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology in cooperation with the Croatian Society of Chemical Engineers. Since its inaugural edition in 1996, SMLKI has grown into a respected international conference, recognised by the European Chemical Society (EuChemS), that brings together young engineers, researchers, and professionals in chemical and related fields.

The Meeting provides a dynamic platform for undergraduate, graduate and PhD students, as well as early-career professionals, to present their research results, exchange experiences, and expand their professional networks. Undergraduate and graduate students participate free of charge.

Contributions are welcome in the fields of:

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Biochemical Engineering

  • Environmental Engineering

  • Materials and Product Development

  • Applied Chemistry

The aims of the event are to encourage scientific excellence among young professionals, promote the continuous development of chemical engineering, and foster collaboration across disciplines and borders.

The official languages of the conference are Croatian and English. A call for papers and abstract submission guidelines will be published on the official conference website. All accepted contributions will be presented through oral or poster sessions, and the programme will also feature invited lectures from distinguished experts.

Registration details, important deadlines, and programme updates will be available on the conference website: https://www.fkit.unizg.hr/smlki
